Call screen showing one call "On hold" and a second call "Connected" during an attended transfer
Seamlessly hand off calls with full control — now available in the WebTrit web dialer (Chrome/Safari/Firefox and other major browsers) for smoother customer service and professional call handling.

We’re happy to introduce attended call transfer to the WebTrit web dialer – a feature that gives you full control over how you hand off calls.

Until now, the web dialer supported blind transfer for quick call forwarding. This meant you couldn’t check if a colleague was available or provide context before connecting a customer, which isn’t ideal for a professional service team.

Now, you can place the current caller on hold, make a separate, private call to the recipient, and then complete the transfer. No more blind handoffs or wondering if you’re sending a customer to the right person. It’s the same professional call control you expect from a traditional PBX, now available directly in your browser.

This update has been one of the most requested features from call centers, support teams, and businesses that rely on smooth customer handovers. It complements the attended transfer functionality that has been available in WebTrit softphone (for Android/iOS smartphones) since May 2024.

Here’s how it works:

The new workflow is designed to be simple and intuitive for agents handling complex call flows.

  • Place the Active Call on Hold: During an active call, the user can initiate a transfer, which places the original call on hold.
  • Find the Transfer Destination: The user can then find the second recipient by searching their contacts or using the dialpad directly within the “Transfer” window.
  • Speak Privately with the Recipient: The user initiates the second call. Once the recipient answers, the user can speak with them privately while the original caller remains on hold.
  • Complete or Cancel the Transfer: After speaking with the recipient, the user can choose to complete the transfer (connecting both parties) or cancel the transfer and return to the original call.

Attended transfer works with any SIP-based VoIP or cloud PBX system, just like the rest of WebTrit. No additional setup required — if your backend supports the feature, it’s ready to use.
